Accounts Payable Specialist

Quadrangle is seeking a Accounts Payable Specialist with 2 years of experience in an architectural or engineering office environment. Previous experience with Deltek Vision or other time and billing software in a project-based environment is an asset.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

  • Review Accounts Payable invoices from subconsultants and vendors and code them to the correct accounts, projects and/or phases;
  • Review employee expenses submitted through Deltek Vision including GL accounts, receipts and compliance to company expense policy;
  • Reconcile corporate credit cards and ensure all receipts have been collected;
  • Processing all payments before due date (Cheques, EFTs, wires);
  • Work with project accountant team members to ensure correct coding of subconsultant invoices and reimbursable expenses;
  • Respond to vendor queries relating to their accounts and payments;
  • Respond to all other queries in the centralized AP mailbox.

Payables Approval Tracking

  • Administrator of Payables and Approval Tracking software;
  • Liaise with Project Managers and approvers to ensure that all invoices are approved in a timely manner and answer queries regarding the use of the software.
Skills/Competencies and Qualifications:
  • Candidates should have a diploma in accounting and/or other appropriate academic major;
  • Knowledge of MS Office;
  • Written and verbal communication skills;
  • The ability to be flexible and adaptable;
  • The ability to work independently but also to contribute to a larger accounting team;
  • Balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
  • Attention to detail and deadlines is required.

Intermediate and Senior Architects

Quadrangle is seeking intermediate and senior architects. We are looking for people with a minimum of five years of experience in the design, production and coordination of complex projects. In addition to a high level of design expertise, candidates should possess a strong knowledge of building science.

The following skills and experience are required:

  • Five years of experience in an architectural practice;
  • Experience using Revit in a professional environment is preferred;
  • Excellent design and visual communication skills;
  • Proven abilities as a team leader;
  • Excellent communication skills.

Graphic Specialist

Quadrangle is seeking a Graphics Specialist that can combine art and technology to create and manage a collection of visually strong and clear graphic material for Quadrangle. Working within the Business Development team and with external consultants, the Graphic Specialist translates Quadrangle’s brand into compelling visuals for digital and print materials in collaboration with the marketing/business development team. With a strong understanding of Quadrangle’s philosophy and the industry/market, the Graphic Specialist will use their design sense and skills to distinguish Quadrangle from its competitors, strengthening and elevating the Studio’s profile.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and creates a portfolio of graphic material using brand guidelines and direction from the Business Development Manager and Senior Management;
  • Advises the Business Development team on best design practices for effective and strong visual display and communication;
  • Establishes and maintains graphic standards and templates, ensures all graphic material is of high quality and accurately represents the brand standard;
  • Coordinates all aspects of production for print and digital promotional materials;
  • General website/intranet graphics management;
  • Prepares presentations (for promotional purposes);
  • Coordinates photography shoots and manages a catalogue of project imagery and photography;
  • Prepares project sheets, brochures, newsletters, media kits etc.;
  • Reviews project material (when requested) including architectural drawings, process work and diagrams for graphic qualities and compliance with standards;
  • Coordinates major graphic items like company notebooks, exhibition designs and award submissions;
  • Coordinates with Brand Consultant.

Skills/Competencies Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of working experience as a Graphic Designer or similar field;
  • Exceptional creativity and design sense with equal skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator; experience with Dreamweaver, After Effects and Premier would be an additional asset);
  • Ability to work within the confines of both print and digital media (knowledge of HTML and common content management systems);
  • Strong conceptual, communication and listening skills being able to translate directions/ideas into designs;
  • Team player and collaborator working with diverse teams internally and externally;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, be self-directed and take initiative;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Understanding of the architectural or construction market/industry an asset.

Design Leads - Intermediate and Senior Architects

Quadrangle is seeking senior and intermediate architectural design leads. We are looking for people with strong conceptual design and design development abilities, which are demonstrated in a combination of graphic and verbal communication skills. Candidates should have the ability to work well with a diverse group of teams, mentor junior designers and deliver concepts quickly. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience, most recently as a lead architect designer, and preferably with experience in private sector multi-unit/mixed use residential projects. Proficiency with Revit, with additional skills in 3D modeling and rendering will be an asset. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point of client contact for design discussions while building trust at all levels;
  • Inspire and lead design thinking and discussion;
  • Maintain accountability and communicate to the team design integrity, economic feasibility and constructability of design ideas through all phases of project work;
  • Work with the Project Lead to understand the project deliverables, deadlines and time allocation and provide feedback;
  • Work with the Project Lead to ensure quality design output is realized by providing feedback on team talent and task distribution;
  • Create design solutions through appropriate precedent selection, sketches, diagramming, renderings, materials research, technical details and preparation of drawing packages;
  • Engage with the project Design Advisor on a regular basis to ensure an ongoing design feedback loop is created;
  • Ensure that all presentation packages meet Quadrangle design standards and receive proper quality control review by the Design Advisor in a timely manner, prior to presentation;
  • Demonstrate design initiative through outside interest in design, contributions to the Quadrangle design discussion and other initiatives.

  • Minimum of 5 years of related industry experience in a design role;
  • Experience with private sector multi-unit/mixed use residential projects;
  • Strong conceptual, graphic and design talent;
  • Ability to mentor junior architects;
  • Proficiency in Revit, with additional skills in 3D modeling and rendering;

  • Critical thinking, effective problem solving and decision-making skills;
  • Strong collaboration skills.

Advanced Junior Interior Designers

Quadrangle is seeking advanced junior interior designers, with a minimum of two years of experience in design firm environments or the ability to demonstrate the skills outlined below.

Candidates would have an education in an Interior Design program, a keen design eye, excellent product knowledge and experience to work collaboratively on projects with supervision. You will take on a variety of design and production tasks. Your role will be to work under the direction of Project Managers, Senior and Intermediate designers, while continuing to learn the higher level tasks involved in project execution.

You are capable of taking on the responsibility to deliver tasks to completion and are capable of prioritizing the tasks assigned to you. You are known for your organizational skills and understand the need for accurate and timely deliverables, succinct requests and professional communications internally and externally. You have good automation skills in Microsoft Office with a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch-Up. You are fully AutoCAD and Revit conversant. You understand how an interiors studio works and you thrive in a team environment. Preferred candidates would have partial or advanced experience in any of the following private client sectors:  hospitality, food and beverage, retail and corporate design.


Contract Administration Specialist

We are seeking a Contract Administration Specialist with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the preparation of contract documents, site review, review of shop drawings, preparation of supplemental instructions and all other standard contract administration functions. Experience in a range of building types, but particularly adaptive reuse and medium and large scale residential. Candidates should be proficient in Revit, MS Office and other standard software programs. Knowledge of Statslog is an asset.
