For Ted, a built form is a microcosm of its surroundings, reflecting the people who will use it, the persona of its builder and the overall culture.

Part of the firm since its founding, he became a principal in 1999 and has played a key role in evolving the firm’s design sensibility, leading many award-winning projects. One of Ted’s areas of expertise is the broadcast industry, where his attention to detail and unique understanding of project design have helped bring a fresh vision to some of the best-known facilities in the Canadian industry, including the technical facility and office environment for Deluxe in Toronto, a world leading digital post-production company. On these and other corporate retrofit and interiors projects, he has collaborated extensively with clients to gain a thorough understanding of their needs – forging the long-term relationships that have contributed significantly to the Studio's success.

Ted earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carleton University and pursued additional studies at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, England, and the Three Schools of Art in Toronto. As a LEED Accredited Professional, he also was responsible for piloting the firm’s initiatives in sustainable design.

After three decades with the firm, Ted transitioned into his current role as Principal Emeritus in early 2019 and continues to provide his support and expertise to the Studio.
