Melanie’s expertise in both the design and administrative sides of project development enables her to guide significant proposals through their complex incipient phases.

Melanie began at the Studio in 2000, working on all project phases, honing her skills in everything from client management to design detail and large-scale project analysis. Melanie then worked for two years as a Zoning Examiner at the City of Toronto’s Building Department, where she reviewed a wide array of proposals and immersed herself in the new harmonized Toronto bylaw and municipal approvals process. With this experience, Melanie returned to the Studio where she focuses on the beginning phases of projects, including feasibility studies, early concept development and zoning analysis, while also guiding projects through municipal planning stages. Melanie’s knowledge is an asset to her colleagues throughout the firm, both in advising on zoning challenges and developing the Studio's consolidated zoning statistics template, ensuring firm-wide consistency and completeness. Melanie’s projects include the renovation of the BMW Head Office, the Bloor and The East Mall redevelopment, 89-101 Roehampton Avenue and the firm's comprehensive redesign of the mixed-use Yonge Sheppard Centre.
